The nation and world are currently examining future sustainable energy sources to support modern human society. It is incumbent upon us in Missouri and the Ozarks region to similarly explore this issue at a more local and regional level. The potential for local businesses and quality of life. Thus this conference seeks to:
- Bring together key stakeholders and individuals with an interest in new energy sources for the sharing of ideas and strategies
- Evaluate the state of knowledge in the area of sustainable energy sources and determine how to apply them locally
- Discuss possible projects in the Ozarks that could lead to long-term sustainable energy sources and energy independence for the region; sustainable energies include biomass fuels, bio-diesel, solar energy, wind, and other forms of renewable energy
- Crystallize advocacy within the region to promote policymaking at the state and federal level that supports development and commercialization of sustainable energy projects in the region
- Identify and highlight locally available expertise that could help businesses and industry interested in sustainable energy enterprises
